Subject: Mach3&Arduino modbus

Hi Tom!

For an upcoming project I need more IO than available in Kanalog. I have been thinking to solve this thru Mach brain and an Arduino with io/relay shield.

Is there any known issues to watch out or reasons not to go this way?

You might want to look at POKEYS. It is designed specifically to add I/O to Mach.

Hi Tapio,

That should work. But you should realize that anything that involves the PC (Windows, Mach3, Brains, Plugins, USB, Pokeys) will not be deterministicly real-time.
